My reviews as a speaker and lecturer on history and archaeology...

I recently went along to one of John’s talks on the Archaeology and History of the South Downs. I didn’t know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. It was an informative and often amusing talk. I wasn’t sure if the information would be ‘over my head’ but John explained everything in a very clear and enjoyable way and the photos were really interesting. He's a great speaker and lecturer. The time flew by and I was left wanting to know more about this very interesting subject - Annita M, Brighton (May 2016).

I attended his talk on the South Downs recently, and he had a relaxed and engaging style. His presentation was highly professional, and he managed to convey an account of the archaeology, history and present of the South Downs in an informative,  interesting and illuminating style, which was enthusiastically received by the audience at the Marlipins Museum, Shoreham. I would recommend it to anyone who might have the opportunity to hear this or a similar talk - Jeff L, Shoreham (May 2016).

On behalf of the Henfield History Group I would like to thank you for the talk you gave us yesterday evening. It has given us a good insight into what role the Romans played in our corner of Britain. I know I shall be looking at Roman mosaics in a new light. I think there must be a lot of interest in that era of our history in view of the large attendance and the number of visitors that joined us last night. Hopefully we can contact you in the future to come along and give us another talk. Once again thank you very much for your very interesting and informative talk - Maureen F, Henfield (July 2016)

Dear John, on behalf of the Wildbrooks Society (Coldwaltham) thank you for giving us such an interesting talk this evening. It was enjoyed by all - Sue M (October 2016)

John's talk on Secrets of the High Woods provided an excellent introduction to this HLF funded project, and the combination of information and a little humour proved very successful. The audience was thoroughly engaged by the topic and took full advantage of the opportunity to ask questions.

Lorna G, Membership Secretary, Sussex Archaeological Society (December 2016)
